The fat exposed tube of the tunnel is bent and rests on a small hill, providing double access to the test chamber. This chamber in the heart of the building covers an area of twelve square meters. Here tests can be run on models in scales up 65% of the actual size, and real race conditions can be simulated on the vehicles in 1:1 scale. Within the chamber, the cars are subjected to an air flow with high quality in terms of turbulence, angularity and uniformity, generated by a 2200 kw ventilator that is over five meters in diameter.(...)
